Ty Swabb Acquired from the St. Albert Steel

Press Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) have completed a trade with the St. Albert Steel of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) for goaltender Ty Swabb in exchange for Stefan Bazar.

From Edmonton Alberta, Swabb is a 6'3"p 170lbs 19 year old goaltender. In his second season in the AJHL he has played in 18 games and has a 90.19 save percentage. In his first year, playing with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, Swabb finished with a 90.86 save percentage.

"I'm glad to be able to add a quality goaltender like Ty to our team," said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "Our goaltending has been inconsistent this season and Ty will help solidify that position for us."

The addition of Ty Swabb led to the Spruce Kings reassigning Marcus Beesley. Earlier in the day, Scott and Spencer McHaffie were also reassigned. The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to thank Stefan Bazar, Marcus Beesley, Scott and Spencer McHaffie and wish them all the best in their future hockey careers.

Ty Swabb is expected to arrive in Prince George prior to the team’s double header at home with the Westside Warriors on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
