Duluth's Hunter Scott named Pizza Hut player of the week

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Hunter Scott of the Duluth Clydesdales has been named Pizza Hut player of the week for the period running Jan. 30-Feb. 5.

In two games during that week that was the 18-year-old native of Eau Claire, Wis. racked up eight points on seven goals and one assist.

Scott began by notching a SIJHL season-high five markers, including the game-winner, while setting up another in a road victory at Sioux Lookout. He followed that effort with a two-tally performance the following evening against the Flyers.

On the season the Clydesdales’ forward sits tied for ninth overall in SIJHL scoring with 53 points on 28 goals and 25 assists.

In recognition of his on-ice efforts Scott will be presented with a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut.

Honourable mention for the Pizza Hut player of the week award went to Wilson Housley, (F) Wisconsin Wilderness; Matt Benson, (G) Sioux Lookout Flyers; Ryan Wildman, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Tyson Holder, (F) Dryden Ice Dogs; Benjamin Brouillard, (F) Iron Range Ironheads and Michael Orosey, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars.

At the conclusion of the 2011-12 regular season the top performer in the SIJHL will earn the Pizza Hut player of the year award.
