Edwards brothers soar to Niagara

Press Release

Brock and Luke Edwards are making it easy for their family to watch them play over the next few years. Today, the Canadians are happy to announce the brothers have accepted full scholarships to the Niagara University Purple Eagles program beginning in 2013 for Brock and 2014 for Luke.

Brock came to the Canadians a season and a half ago and has really had a breakout year in 2011/12. In 48 games this season, he's tallied 54 points (21g, 33a) with 13 of those coming on the powerplay. He's also scored two game-winning goals. Last year, he scored 36 points in 53 games. He's counted on in all situations and has a great work ethic in practice.

Younger brother Luke had a standout year with his Jr. B team last year and was eager to team up with Brock to help take the Canadians to the next level. He quickly adjusted to the pace of the Jr. A game and is now reaping the rewards of his hard work. So far this year, Luke has scored 8 goals and assisted on another 28 for 36 points in 45 games. He has 6 points on the powerplay and has also scored two game-winning goals.

The brothers will join a couple of familiar faces in Dan Kolenda and Christian Weidauer who also signed deals with the Purple Eagles. Congrats to both Brock and Luke on this accomplishment!
