MEADS TO BENTLEY

Press Release

Haverhill, MA- There may still be many games remaining in the Valley Jr. Warriors’ season, but one player is already looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

Forward Mark Meads has signed on to play for Bentley University for the 2012-13 season.

“They are going to rely on him initially to be that defensive type of forward,” said Head Coach and General Manager Andy Heinze. “But if he gains confidence, he can contribute offensively.”

Meads has enjoyed an outstanding season with the Warriors and is one of the key players on the penalty-killing unit. Through 28 games, he has scored five goals and added 10 assists.

“For us he has been a real steady two-way player and has the ability to contribute on the offensive end,” said Heinze of the 5-6, 160-pounds Meads. “He is not big, but he competes well on the puck against bigger guys.”

The Bentley Falcons (7-5-5 AHA) are tied for sixth in the league standings with Holy Cross and UConn, all with 19 points, and are just three points out of a potential first round bye in the postseason.
