Sportop performer of the month: January

Press Release

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Friday that Chris Hoffman of the Sioux Lookout Flyers has been named the Sportop performer of the month for January.

In 10 games during the opening month of 2012, the 20-year-old native of Leonard, Mich., amassed more points than any skater in the SIJHL with 23, including 15 goals, while chipping in with eight assists.

Among his 15 tallies were contests that featured back-to-back hat-tricks along with a pair of game-winning goals.

Hoffman found the back of the net in eight of the match-ups his club played last month and recorded just as many multiple-point games.

On the season the Flyers forward sits tied for fourth in SIJHL scoring with 57 points that includes a league-best 37 goals.

He has currently scored in five consecutive games for Sioux Lookout as well as in 10 of his past 11 outings, 14 of 18 and also leads the SIJHL in multiple-goal games with 11.

For his on-ice efforts Hoffman will be recognized at a future game and presented with a gift pack courtesy of Sportop Marketing Inc.

Honourable mention for the Sportop performer of the month award for January went to the following:
