Titans’ Matt Armenti Tendered by NAHL’s Fairbanks Ice Dogs

Press Release

The purpose of playing Junior hockey is often to get noticed to potentially move on to a higher level. The Metropolitan Junior Hockey League offers many players that opportunity. That opportunity just became a reality as Titans Defenseman Matt Armenti was offered and signed a tender by the NAHL’s Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

Part of the NAHL process for teams to fill their rosters is the tender process. A tender is by definition and courtesy of the NAHL, “a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted eight (8) tenders - plus or minus any trades - which become active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.”

Armenti has had a strong season all year for the Titans MET League team. A third year Titan, Armenti missed most of last season due to a back injury that he has bounced back strong from as he has recorded 13 goals, 12 assists, and 25 points in 25 league games. A swift skating 6’1” 180 lb. defender, Armenti is excited and looking forward to heading out to Fairbanks.

"Being tendered is an outstanding opportunity and I am really looking forward to it and the opportunity of playing in the NAHL," Armenti said.

“The Titans are very excited for Matt, said Head Coach Dustin DePalma. “He has been in our Junior program for three years and has developed into a legitimate college prospect. I know he is extremely excited about the opportunity to play for a quality organization like Fairbanks in the NAHL.”
