AMS' SIGN 3RD ROUND WHL DRAFT PICK

Press Release

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans' Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old defenseman Tyler Fraser to a standard WHL Player's Contract. Fraser was the club's second pick in the third round (55th overall) in this year's WHL Bantam draft on May 3rd in Calgary, AB.

Fraser, a native of Surrey, British Columbia teamed with Americans Parker Wotherspoon to form one of the premier defensive corps in Bantam hockey last season in Western Canada.

The 6-1, 175 pound Fraser provides a physical presence and served as team captain last season for the Cloverdale Colts Bantam AAA team.

"My first impression of Tyler at the John Reid Memorial Tournament in St. Albert, Alberta was, oh no, we have to play against this guy for four years," commented Tory.

"We had had Tyler rated extremely high for the draft and felt fortunate that he was available to us in the third round," stated Tory.

"We are looking forward to Tyler attending both our rookie and main training camps in August and participating in both the Everett and Tri-City (Red Lion Hotels) tournaments," said Tory.
