Bombers Acquire Roach From Broncos

Press Release

Flin Flon Bombers Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan announced today that the team has acquired 1992 born defenseman Josh Roach from the Humboldt Broncos to finalize the Andrew Johnston trade from last season.

Last August Flin Flon traded Johnston to Humboldt for defenseman Gabe Minville and a player to be named later.

“We are very excited to acquire a player of Josh’s caliber,” said Reagan.

In three seasons with the Broncos Roach (Saskatoon, SK) has complied 94 points (30 g, 64a) in 150 games. This past season the 6’1, 188 pound rearguard had 22 points in 22 playoff games helping the Broncos win the SJHL championship and the Anavet Cup.

“Josh is very excited to be a Bomber,” commented Reagan, “he remembers playing in front of the famous Flin Flon crowds and cant’ wait to be on the right end of the cheers.”

Originally a forward was supposed to come Flin Flon’s way, but both coaches felt that Roach was the right piece to finish the trade.

“Both Dean and myself felt that Josh was the only player available to even out the trade. We gave up a great player in Andrew, so to even out the trade we took the best player available, forward or not.”

“The thing with Josh is that he’s very versatile, he can play both forward and defense and we plan on using him in both positions.”
