Grizz forward Holland lands deal to Merrimack

Press Release

Victoria Grizzlies forward Alex Holland has accepted an offer to play for Merrimack College in the 2013-14 season.

The Woburn, Massachusetts native totaled 17 goals and 17 assists to go along with 30 penalty minutes in his rookie season for Victoria.

At Merrimack, Holland will join a team that has strong recruiting ties to the BCHL. The Warriors roster includes BCHL alums Kyle Bigos, Mike Collins, Jordan Heywood, Brendan Ellis, Quinn Gould and Kyle Singleton. They're bringing in more BCHL talent in the years ahead as Izaak Berglund and Matt Cronin are committed for the 2012-13 season and Austin Plevy and Wade Murphy for the year after that.

Merrimack plays in the Hockey East conference of the NCAA alongside the likes of national champion Boston College, Maine and Vermont. Holland will be returning to his home state for college as the Merrimack campus is located in North Andover, Massachusetts.
