Rangers Add Mike McKenzie to Coaching Staff

Press Release

Kitchener Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott has announced that the team has hired Mike McKenzie as an Assistant Coach.

“We’re pleased to add Mike to the staff,” said Spott. “He brings recent experience from his professional career, making him a valuable educational resource for our players as they build their futures. Additionally, he has experience playing at the collegiate level and can share that perspective with our prospects.”

McKenzie recently retired from professional hockey after playing his final season with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. He also spent four seasons playing NCAA hockey with the St. Lawrence University Saints and was a two-time member of the NCAA All-Academic Team. He is also the son of TSN hockey analyst Bob McKenzie.

“It’s a great opportunity anytime you get to start your career with a staff and an organization that is as well-respected as the Rangers,” said McKenzie. “I’m really looking forward to the new challenge.”
