Veteran Defenceman Acquired for Spruce Kings

Press Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) have acquired Bradley Ryan from the Oakville Blades of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) in exchange for recently acquired Adam Fares and future considerations.

Bradley Ryan is a '92 born 6' 5" 205 pound defenceman from Mississauga, ON who has played the past three seasons for the Oakville Blades. In 131 regular season games played, Ryan has a record of 4 goals, 48 assists and 212 minutes in penalties. Ryan has also played in 47 post season games including the 2010 RBC Royal Bank Cup National Championship in Dauphin, MB.

"I'm thrilled to be able to acquire a veteran defenceman like Bradley," said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "He's a big skilled player who will play big minutes for us while providing leadership on and off the ice."

Considered to be one of the most consistent players with the Oakville Blades, Ryan has emerged as one of the top defencemen in the OJHL. Ryan is excited to be a member of the Spruce Kings with the opportunity to play in Prince George and in the BCHL. The team's main training camp for the 2012-13 BCHL season gets underway at the Prince George Coliseum on August 24, 2012.
