Virtanen Traded To Drumheller

Press Release

Head Coach and General Manager Mike Reagan announced today that the team has traded 1992 born defenseman Stefan Virtanen to the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL in exchange for 1993 born forward Brody Robinson, 1992 born forward Logan Sceviour and future considerations.

Robinson played in 52 games last season for the Dragons scoring three goals and five assists and 94 penalty minutes and was named Drumheller’s Rookie of the Year. Originally a seventh round choice of the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL, the 6’1 190 pound product of Red Deer, AB is described as a crash and bang forward who the Bombers have had their eye on since last season.

With Sceviour, the Bombers get a player who’s played junior hockey since he was 16 and has a total of 91 points (36g, 55a) in 208 games along with 91 penalty minutes. The 6’0 180 pounder, also out of Red Deer, has played his entire junior hockey in the AJHL with Canmore Eagles, Bonnyville Pontiacs and Drumheller.

Virtanen suited up for the Bombers for two seasons, playing in 66 games compiling 11 points (5g, 6a) and 88 penalty minutes. Virtanen missed most of last season after undergoing off season shoulder surgery.
