Clippers Add UNH Recruit McNicholas

Press Release

The Nanaimo Clippers Hockey Club is pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Michael McNicholas. The 6'0" 180lb 18yr old, played last season in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

“Coach Vandekamp’s extensive junior hockey coaching record of winning, the rich hockey history of Nanaimo, and Nanaimo’s hosting the Western Canada Cup were all factors in my decision." Michael stated when recently interviewed for the UNH Men’s Hockey Blog.

Following in the footsteps of Clipper Alumni Dan Correale, Michael has committed to attend the University of New Hampshire.

"We are very excited to be adding Mike to our roster for the upcoming season. He will add much needed skill and offence to our forward group. He is a very dedicated player who is committed to helping the Clippers win a Championship this season.” commented Coach Vandekamp. “We are looking forward to helping Mike develop into a ready Division 1 player for the UNH Wildcats as well. We would like to welcome Mike and his Family to the Clippers and look forward to seeing him at Training Camp in August."
