Q101 Names Afternoon Host Graham Turnbull New Cents Play-By-Play Announcer

Press Release

Q101 - Merritt's Music Mix is pleased to announce that Graham Turnbull has accepted the position as Play-by-Play Announcer for the Merritt Centennials.

Turnbull has been with Q101 since October of 2011 as Afternoon Host. He's also produced a number of features for the Centennials broadcasts last season, including the WHL Report and Minor Hockey Minute. His previous experience includes play-by-play for a number of games for the KIJHL's Chase Chiefs and Kamloops Storm in 2011-12 and with the BCHL's Coquitlam Express as a broadcast student at the BC Institute of Technology in 2010-11.

"If you know Graham, then you know that his first passion is hockey and his dream is to be a Play-by-Play Announcer," said Q101 Program Manager and Morning Host Taylor Landry. "We’re excited to give him this opportunity to be part of the historic 40th Anniversary season of the Merritt Centennials."

"Since Graham's been with us at Q101, he’s adapted to any situation, done any job that has been asked of him - and done it well," Landry continued. "Please help us in welcoming Graham as the new Voice of the Merritt Centennials!"

Tunbull replaces Alex Grebenyuk, who was hired last month as the Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting for the WHL's Vancouver Giants.
