Slammers Name Purvis Captain

The Woodstock Slammers are proud to announce that forward Ryan Purvis has been selected to be the team captain for the 2012-2013 season.

"In Ryan Purvis the Slammers have a player who plays the game hard every shift and who will lead by example on and off the ice. The staff and the players respect Ryan's work ethic. Ryan is proud to be part of our organization and we are fortunate to have him as our captain this season" commented Head Coach Jason Tatarnic.

Purvis joined the Slammers late last season and his presence was immediate. the 6'2 and 210 pound forward played a physical game and chipped in offensively when needed including a big goal in the championship game of the Fred Page Cup.

Purvis had this to say about the captaincy "this is an absolute honor, I will give everything I have, and I will lead by example. Andrew Langan provided us how to lead last season and I hope to follow in his foot steps and lead our team to another championship".
