Bulldogs Acquire Forward from OJHL

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs would like to announce that the organization has acquired 1992-born forward Manny Gialedakis (Gel-a-dak-is) from the Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Gialedakis appeared in 44 games for the Raiders in 2011/12. The 5’11”, 185lbs, left-handed forward contributed with 15 goals and 14 assistant while adding 47 PIMs.

Prior to playing for the Raiders in 2011/12, Gialedakis also spent some time in the NAHL with the Fresno Monsters and with the Dixie Beehives of the CCHL.

Gialedakis’ most impressive numbers came playing Midget AAA for the Vaughn Kings where as a 16-year-old he registered 45 goals and 55 assists and 116PIMs in just 58 games. He went on to contribute that season with 14 points in 13 playoff games.

“We are very excited to add a player like Manny,” said Alberni Valley Bulldogs head coach Kevin Willison. “He comes to us highly recommended and we look forward to seeing him contribute in a Bulldogs’ uniform,” added Willison.

Gialedakis, from Woodbridge, Ontario, is the second Ontario-born player on the Alberni Valley Bulldogs roster, joining Bulldogs captain Ryan Lough who is from Manotic, Ontario.

“It feels good to be a part of a great organiziation like the Alberni Valley Bulldogs,” said Bulldogs’ newest forward Manny Gialedakis, who took part in the Raise A Reader fundraiser on Wednesday evening. “I want to thank the staff for getting this deal done and for making me a Bulldog,” added Gialedakis.

Gialedakis will wear jersey number 17 this season.
