Rivermen Add Veteran D-Men

Township of Langley, BC, Wednesday, September 4, 2012: The Langley Rivermen Junior “A” Hockey Club is pleased to add two 1992 born defenseman, Tyler Vanscourt and Logan Smith, to this year’s roster.

Vanscourt, a California native, has played junior hockey since 2008-2009 and has played in both the Junior “A” ranks and the WHL. He spent last season split between the Prince Albert Raiders, Moose Jaw Warriors, and ended the year with the Vancouver Giants. Overall in 68 games he registered 12 goals, 20 assists for a total of 32 points. At 5’11”, 185 pounds, Vanscourt will provide both leadership and an offensive punch on the blue line.

Smith, who hails from Littleton, Colorado, played last season in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars. In 37 games he put up 3 goals and 9 assists for a total of 12 points. He is a big hulking defenseman at 6’4”, 210 pounds and brings stability and a veteran presence to the defense core. Smith has already committed to college next season at Holy Cross.
