SPOKANE REASSIGNS 16-YEAR-OLD MARKSON BECHTOLD

The Spokane Chiefs have reassigned 16-year-old Markson Bechtold to the UFA Bisons of the AMHL. Bechtold, the Chiefs third round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft, had one goal in five pre-season games.

Spokane won a pair of games last weekend to finish the pre-season 5-1-0-0 with wins in their last five.

The WHL regular season will begin this Saturday, September 22nd in Tri-City when the Chiefs visit the Americans. Mike Boyle will go on the air at 6:30 p.m. with Xfinity Hockey Tonight on 1510 KGA. The game will also be broadcast live on SWX, Xfinity channel 115 and 6.2 over the air in Spokane.

Tickets for Bud Light Opening Night versus the Tri-City Americans on Saturday, September 29th, and all home Chiefs’ games, are available by calling (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.

The roster move leaves the Chiefs with 27 players; three goaltenders, nine defensemen and 15 forwards.
