Spruce Kings name captains

Press Release

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) earlier today announced their team captains for the 2012-13 season. Trevor Esau will wear the 'C' while Lyndon Martell, Brad Ryan and Cam Lawson will wear an 'A'.

Esau is a third year veteran of the Prince George Spruce Kings and carried the duties of an assistant captain last season.

"We're thrilled as an organization to have a player like Trevor be our captain," said Spruce Kings General Manager, Mike Hawes. "Trevor wears his heart on his sleeve and leads by example both on and off the ice. Trevor exemplifies what we try to do as a group and fits very well within the core values established by the organization."

Lyndon Martell is entering his third season with the team and has shown a high level of commitment and dedication to the Spruce Kings. Brad Ryan and Cam Lawson have shown great leadership skills since arriving in Prince George.

"All four guys are hard working players that put the team first," said Spruce Kings Head Coach, Dave Dupas. "Having quality leaders in the room and on the ice is very important to developing a successful team."

The four captains will work closely with this year’s group of rookies and veterans to help the coaching staff develop them as players and ambassadors of the team and the City of Prince George.
