Storm trims roster

Press Release

Guelph Storm General Manager Mike Kelly announced today that Mac Nichol, Keegan Calder and Matt Martin have left the team to pursue other opportunities.

Nichol, the Storm’s 5th round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection, has opted to focus more on his university studies at the University of Guelph and review his hockey options. Playing two full seasons with the Storm, Nichol recorded three points, one goal and two assists.

Calder, who joined the team last year for 10 games as a free agent, has returned to the Kitchener Dutchman Jr. B team where he spent more his time last season.

Martin a free agent invitee this year to camp has returned to the Guelph Hurricanes, but will continue to practice with the Storm.

The Storm is back in action this Wednesday, September 5th as they head to Mississauga for a rematch against the Steelheads. The next home exhibition game is this Friday, September 7th as the Barrie Colts come to town. General Admission tickets are still available for $12 and can be purchased by visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office in Old Quebec Street Mall.
