Tanner Lishchynsky Signs With Cougars.

Press Release

The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce the signing of 1995-born defenceman Tanner Lishchynsky (Saskatoon, SK) to a standard Western Hockey League contract.

Lishchynsky (6’0”, 172 pounds) has spent the past two seasons playing Midget with the Saskatoon Blazers (SMAAAHL). Last season he posted six goals and 27 points in 41 games. He took home defenceman of the year honors for his team and was also named a co-MVP.

“The first thing you notice about him is how he competes,” said Prince George Cougars Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel Wade Klippenstein. “His strong play through training camp and the early exhibition season has forced us to keep him on our team.”

Lishchynsky is one of 10 remaining defensive hopefuls trying to crack the opening night roster for the Prince George Cougars. He was a +1 during Sunday’s 5-0 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
