CCHL CORPORATE HYPE SEPTEMBER MONTHLY PLAYER

The Central Canada Tier 1 Junior A Hockey  (CCHL) is pleased to announce the Corporate Hype Player of the Month awards for September. The Smiths Falls Bears feature two of the three award winners. The Bears had a great month and sit atop the Robinson division. Tyler Akeson is Player of the Month, Akeson had a great month for the Bears  scoring 13 points (13 A) in 10 games from the back-end. The Ottawa native plays in all situations and leads all defenceman in league scoring. Joining him this month is Bears netminder Patrick Martin who earns Goalie of the Month honours. Martin, who was Player of the Week in week 2 continued his stellar play going 6-3 overall for September. The 20 year old goalie leads the league in wins and started every game in September. Hunter Racine of the Ottawa Junior Senators is the Rookie of the Month award winner. Racine has adjusted nicely to the Junior A game scoring six points (3G, 3A) in seven games and is currently tied for rookie league scoring. The speedy right winger is one of the reasons that the Ottawa Junior Senators are currently first in the Yzerman Division and ranked 13th in the country.

Player of the Month –  F Luke Edwards (Carleton Place Canadians) and F Michael Buonincontri (Smiths Falls Bears)

Goalie of the Month – Brandon Lane (Kanata Stallions) and Matt Zawadzki (Nepean Raiders)

Rookie of the Month – D Kelly Summers (Carleton Place Canadians) and F Steve Cooney (Kemptville 73's)
