Cents Add 19-Year-Old Defenceman Charlie Donlin

Press Release

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Charlie Donlin (93) for the 2012-13 season.

"We are thrilled to add Charlie to our roster, he's a big, physical D-man who skates well and will provide added stability to our blueline," said Cents GM and Head Coach Luke Pierce.

"Charlie is a player we've been recruiting since the Spring and we're excited that the opportunity to sign him came up this week," Pierce continued. "We expect Charlie to play in our upcoming road-trip this weekend and look forward to seeing him in a Cents jersey."

Donlin, at 6-foot-3 and 205 lbs, played the last two seasons with the Colorado Rampage Under-18 team in the Midwest Elite Hockey League. He had six goals, 16 assists and 80 penalty minutes in 66 games.

From 2008-10, the Shorewood, Minnesota product, played US high school hockey at Holy Family Catholic, posting 17 goals, 18 assists and 85 penalty minutes in 48 games.

Donlin tried out with the USHL's Lincoln Stars this Fall and played two pre-season games, with no points, two penalty minutes and an even +/- rating.
