Press Release
The
Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce that forward Derek Huisman
is the Mark's Work Wearhouse Player of the Month for September 2012.
The 20-year-old Huisman played six games in October and tallied three
goals and four assists to sit second in scoring on the Centennials. The
Smithers product was especially lethal on the power play, with three of
his four goals coming with the man advantage. His play helped launch
Merritt to finish the month with the best power play percentage in the
BCHL.
"Derek had a great month of September for us, capping it
off with a four point weekend," said Cents GM and Head Coach Luke
Pierce. "He's a catalyst for our power play and has provided some very
timely goals."
Pierce added, "Derek has established himself as a leader in our dressing room and we're happy for him to win the award."
For further information, please contact Cents GM and Head Coach Luke Pierce at 250-378-3607 or email luke@merrittcentennials.com.
The Merritt Centennials, proudly celebrating 40 seasons as the BCHL's
longest continuously run franchise, are a non-profit, community owned
Junior 'A' Hockey Club run by a dedicated team of investors, directors,
and volunteers.
