City of St. Catharines Recommends Ball-Rankin for New IceDogs Spectator Facility

Press Release

The City of St. Catharines has taken the next step towards the new Spectator Facility today, as a team of City staff and councilors recommended the job of designing and building the facility be given to Ball-Rankin Constuction.

The recommendation (including conceptual drawings) is included in a report as part of the Oct. 29 council agenda and available by clicking here.

The Ball-Rankin Construction proposal was selected over proposals from Giffels Westpro/Norr Project Team and PCL Contractors Canada Inc, the three firms the City had selected to submit proposals to design and build the spectator facility.

The key construction dates listed in the recommendation are as follows:
- Project award - October 2012
- Site work begin - November 2012
- Building foundations completed - May 2013
- Building closed in - December 2013
- Substantial completion achieved - August 2014
- Facility opening - September 2014

City Council will vote on the recommendation at its Oct. 29 meeting. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 50 Church St., Downtown St. Catharines
The Niagara IceDogs would like to congratulate both the City of St. Catharines on their recommendation and on Ball-Rankin for being the recommended proposal!
