SOURCE EMBROIDERY SJHL POWER RANKINGS

Press Release

1-Flin Flon Bombers  (6-0-0-0)  …. 1st last week
Six straight wins to open the season, setting the benchmark for other teams to catch up.  Return of Penner should only make them even better.
2-Melville Millionaires (5-2-0-0) …. 6th last week
Five players averaging a point per game and Wakaluk holds the fort despite the club getting outshot most nights.
3-Yorkton Terriers (4-1-0-0) … 5th last week
Terriers might be the best coached team in the league right now as they do it with depth and solid netminding from Thomson.
4-Humboldt Broncos (3-2-1-0)  … 8th last week
Is there a more imposing power forward in the league than Antkowiak?
5-Battlefords North Stars (2-2-0-0) … 9th last week
Addition of Waskewitch should help the offense.
6-Kindersley Klippers (4-3-0-0) …. 2nd last week
One of the more fun teams to watch, Klippers are exceeding expectations after the first three weeks.
7-Notre Dame Hounds (2-2-0-0) … 4th last week
They’ve split their first four games, but only six players on the roster have scored goals this season.
8-Nipawin Hawks (2-3-1-0) … 7th last week
Bernard, King, Kozun have combined for just three goals through six games.
9-Estevan Bruins (2-4-1-0)  …. 12th last week
Coming off their best effort of the season; they now know they have to make the best of the next four weeks without star goalie Glass.
10-Melfort Mustangs (3-5-0-0) … 11th last week
Lots to like with the veteran goaltending and experienced defense.  Now they need some confidence.
11-La Ronge Ice Wolves (2-3-2-0) …. 3rd last week
Boyer and Dieno are for real, but they’ll need some secondary scoring.
12-Weyburn Red Wings (2-5-0-0) … 10th last week
A rough weekend as they got worked over by both Yorkton and Estevan.

WHO’S HOT (numbers in brackets indicate last few games played, goals-assists-points in that time frame)

John Lawrence, Humboldt (2-3-3-6)
He’s taking off and showing signs of being the Broncos’ top go-to scorer

Russell Trudeau, Melville (7-8-3-11)
He, simply, produces offense
Brett Boehm, Flin Flon (4-6-3-9)
As if the Bombers needed yet another offensive star

Jeremy Johnson, Yorkton (4-6-0-6)
He isn’t flashy, but has a nose for the net
Tanner Froese, Estevan (1-1-2-3)
A big game over the weekend against Weyburn may point B’s in right direction
Dylan Balaski, Flin Flon (5-0-10-10)
Racking up assists, Bombers are unbeaten and he hasn’t scored!
D Jay McGrath, Kindersley (5-4-3-7)
Veteran leader on a team getting some quality scoring from first year players
Alex Wakaluk, Melville (2-0, 2.00, .942)
Facing an average of 35 shots a night, not phasing second year goalie
