SOURCE EMBROIDERY SJHL POWER RANKINGS

Press Release

 1-FLIN FLON (8-0-0-0) …. 1st last week
Eight games, eight wins.  Their visit to Yorkton on Tuesday is a ‘must see’.

2-YORKTON (6-1-0-1)  …. 3rd last week
Best defensive team in the league, bar none.
3-MELVILLE (7-2-0-1) …. 2nd last week
What a weekend against arch rival Terriers as both games go to a shootout.

4-HUMBOLDT (5-2-0-1)  …. 4th last week
Who says they have an RBC Cup hangover?  Their top players are playing big right now.

5-NIPAWIN (4-3-0-1)  … 8th last week
Major outburst against Weyburn, the Hawks might be ready for take-off.

6-MELFORT (5-5-0-0) … 10th last week
Two wins in a row, including the fact they took advantage of the defensively challenged Red Wings.

7-KINDERSLEY (5-4-0-0) …. 6th last week
Taking advantage of a real opportunity to, firmly, entrench themselves in the top half of the conference.

8-BATTLEFORDS (3-4-0-0) … 5th last week
Creech may be the most pivotal player on any team in the league.  The Stars look middle of the road in all areas except goal.  Creech may be the difference.

9-NOTRE DAME (3-3-0-1) …. 7th last week
No goal scoring to speak of, can they contend with veteran goalies and a deep defense?

10-LA RONGE (3-5-0-2) …. 11th last week
Finally picked up a victory over the weekend after winning just two of their first nine.

11-ESTEVAN (2-7-1-0)   …. 9th last week
If not for equally poor play from the Red Wings, the Bruins would have already dug themselves a big hole just to contend for a playoff spot.

12-WEYBURN (2-9-0-0) …. 12th last week
They are giving up goals at an alarming rate and there are plenty of holes in the dike in McMillan’s farewell tour.
WHO’S HOT

Tad Kozun, Nipawin (2-2-6-8)
He erupted over the weekend and could be ready to go on a tear.

Justin Waskewitch, Battlefords (2-2-4-6)
Welcome back to North Battleford, Justin.

Nathan Boyer, La Ronge (3-4-1-5)
It looks like Boyer may have to carry his club on his small shoulders.  When he puts up big numbers, the team wins.

Ian McNulty, Melville (5-3-6-9)
McNulty hasn’t played with his hair on fire yet, which is scary seeing as how he’s at almost two points a game over the last two weeks anyway.

Jeremy Johnson, Yorkton (5-5-2-7)
It’s often said the Terriers don’t have any superstars, but Johnson is a threat for a forty goal season.

Matt Hrynkiw, Humboldt (3-0, 1.33, .948, 2SO)
Not nearly as dominant a team in front of him, but same dominant numbers from under-appreciated puckstopper.

Kale Thomson, Yorkton (4-1-0-1, 1.89, .941, 1SO)
Playing a pressure position in his hometown, Thomson is the real deal.

Curtis Martinu, Estevan (2-6-0-0, 2.97, .906)
He deserves credit, playing admirably after getting shelled on opening night upon being parachuted into town.  If only the offense could get going.
Brendon Wilde, Weyburn (4-2-2-4)
Perhaps the brightest surprise in a season, so far, of disappointments for the Red Wings.
