Press Release
DICKINSON, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats and Minot Minotauros are pleased
to announce that they will take on the Minot Minotauros in an exhibition
game at the Dickinson Recreation Center on Tuesday, November 13.
The game, hosted by the Dickinson Hockey Club, will serve as kickoff night for hockey in the Queen City.
“We couldn't have found a better event for our kickoff than hosting a
game between the two North Dakota NAHL teams in the Bismarck Bobcats and
Minot Minotauros,” stated Dickinson Hockey’s Dave Hanneman. “Our kids
are ecstatic about having their favorite teams, the Bobcats and Tauros,
skating on our ice, using the same locker rooms and standing on the same
bench as our youth and DHS home games.”
Proceeds from the exhibition will go to the DHC, with the purpose of supporting the in-house programs in Dickinson.
For the Bobcats and Minotauros, the November contest will be a showcase
for the North American Hockey League within the state and the Dakotas
in general—where the league has big time success stories in the Bobcats,
the Tauros and the Aberdeen Wings.
“The league is always growing and the hockey that the NAHL presents is
really high-skill, high-intensity and extremely fan-friendly,” noted
Bobcats owner and CEO Thom Brigl, whose franchise has successfully
hosted exhibitions in Minot and Aberdeen in years past. “I think the
fans will really enjoy and relate to the hard-working, high-skill nature
of the NAHL game.”
Hanneman thinks the tilt will have a far-ranging impact on players in the Outlaws program.
“It is going to be the best talent and fastest game speed that many
Dickinson and southwest North Dakota residents have ever seen live,” he
added. “Our kids will be able to watch how hard all the Bobcats and
Minotauros have to work just to get another shift. Hopefully the game
gives our kids some dreams and goals of playing junior hockey.”
Tickets for the game are $11.00 for adults, $8.00 for youths and
students and $9.00 for senior citizens. Advance tickets can be purchased
at the Charbonneau Car Center Service Department on 1st Street West and Southwest Wireless on 21st Street West in Dickinson. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the game at the Dickinson Recreation Center.
“Our expectations for the event are hoping that everyone has a great
time, players and fans alike,” concluded Hanneman. “Our club couldn't be
more excited about the game and we're hoping to put on a great show!”
