CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Press Release

Joey Davies, Humboldt Broncos
1992 F Joey Davies (Demorestville ON) wins this award for the second week in a row by virtue of his 4-goal and 2-assist performance in two games played last week.  Davies is up to 15-goals and 12-assists in 19-games overall and is two points behind the league scoring lead.  Davies had a pair of markers in a win over Battlefords on Tuesday and then scored two more and also set up two in a win over Yorkton on Friday.  In fact, the entire line of Davies, Cody Pongracz, and Neil Landry is the hottest in the league right now as they collected 10-points in the Yorkton match.

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Logan Sproule, Humboldt Broncos
1993 D Logan Sproule (Saskatoon SK) had two assists in a dominating win over the Yorkton Terriers last Friday night and continues to log major minutes in the absence of a number of players due to injury on the Humboldt blueline.  Sproule, who is in his third SJHL season, can play any type of game dictated.  A good skater, Sproule makes a great first pass and is a real steady, calm influence on the Humboldt defense.  For the season, he has 3-goals and 7-assists in 18-games.

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sam Aulie, Notre Dame Hounds
1994 F Sam Aulie (Lumsden SK) scored a goal and five assists in three games played last week, all Hound victories to pace all first year players during the last weekly scoring period.  Aulie had an assist in a 4-3 win over Estevan last Tuesday and then followed it up with a goal and a pair of helpers on Friday in a victory over Weyburn.  He ended the week by setting up a pair in a decision over Kindersley.  For the season, Aulie is up to 9-goals and 9-assists in 19-games played, good enough to put him one point behind Brett Boehm for the overall SJHL Rookie scoring lead.

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Brandon Wildung, Flin Flon Bombers
1993 G Brandon Wildung (Minneota MN) gave up only a single goal in each of his two starts last week, marking the third straight week a Flin Flon Bomber has won this award.  Wildung turned away 28-of-29 in a road victory over Melfort last Wednesday and then blocked 38-of-39 in defeating the Battlefords North Stars on Friday at the Whitney Forum.  For the season, Wildung is now 4-and-1, with a 2.79-GAA and a sterling .930-SPCT.
