Colgate Bound for Finn

Press Release

Congratulations to Kingston Voyageurs goaltender Charlie Finn on earning an NCAA Division I scholarship to Colgate University for next season. Finn has played two and a half sensational seasons for the Vees and has finally landed the coveted scholarship that he came here in search of.

“It definitely felt good to finally get the scholarship and I couldn’t be happier to be going to a program as strong as Colgate,” said Finn.

Finn will join former Vees teammate Joe Wilson with the Colgate Raiders roster and also align himself with a couple of rivals, in Wellington’s Darcy Murphy and former Trenton goaltender Spencer Finney.
Coglate currently sits 4th in the ECAC standings, behind Union, Cornell and Harvard.

Finn is fresh off an appearance as starting goaltender for Team Canada East at the World Junior “A” Challenge and one of the top goaltenders in the OJHL yet again this season. He sports a 2.65 goals against average, with a .927 save percentage and three shut-outs. He sits fourth in the OJHL in minutes played, despite missing 10 days while playing for Canada East.

“We couldn’t be happier for Charlie. He’s worked so hard for this and earned every bit of it,” said Head Coach Colin Birkas.

The entire Kingston Voyageurs organization would like to congratulate Charlie Finn on his scholarship to Colgate University.
