Express leading scorer John Siemer accepts scholarship to Northern Michigan

Coquitlam Express forward and leading scorer John Siemer has committed to play for the Northern Michigan University Wildcats for next season.

The Glendora, Calif. native is in his second season with the Express and is tied for third in the BCHL with 26 points in 21 games.

Last year, Siemer produced 59 points in 50 games and now has 85 points in 71 career BCHL contests. His Express teammate Cal Hofford is also committed to the Wildcats for next season.

Northern Michigan competes in the NCAA's Central Collegiate Hockey Association against the likes of Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. The team currently has eight BCHL alumni on the roster in Mitch Jones, Robert Lindores, Wade Epp, Jake Baker, Cohen Adair, Darren Nowick, Jake Johnson and Brian Nugent.
