Forward Brayden Low Joins Silvertips

Press Release

Low, 18, has skated in five WHL games with Portland over the past two seasons since being selected by the Winterhawks in the seventh round (#134 overall) of the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.  The 6-foot-2, 210-pound center played four games for the ‘Hawks as a 16-year-old during the 2010-11 season and another last year before attending training camp with the Seattle Thunderbirds prior to this season.

Hailing from Richmond, British Columbia, Low has recorded four goals, ten points and 12 penalty minutes in 17 BCHL games with the Powell River Kings and Merritt Centennials so far this year.  He skated in 44 games for Merritt last season, totaling 15 points on five goals (including three game-winners) and ten assists while also compiling 26 penalty minutes.  Low also played 44 games in the Junior-A KIJHL from 2010 to 2011, registering 25 points (11g/14a) and 68 penalties minutes for the Richmond Sockeyes.

“We’re happy to add Brayden to our lineup to help provide us with more depth up front,” said Silvertips General Manager Garry Davidson.  “He’s a player I’ve been very familiar with since before he was drafted into the league, and he’s excited to be here.  We expect Brayden to be a hard-working player who is good on face-offs and should be able to play quality minutes for us both at even strength and on the penalty kill.”
