Iron Rangers’ Jonathon Losurdo named Pizza Hut player of the week

Press Release

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Minnesota Iron Rangers forward Jonathon Losurdo has been named the Pizza Hut player of the week for the period concluding Nov. 11.

In two games this past week the 18-year-old native of Elmhurst, Ill., recorded four points in a pair of road games against the Dryden Ice Dogs.

Losurdo set-up the lone Iron Rangers’ goal for his side in a narrow 2-1 setback on Friday and followed that up by tallying twice and dishing out an assist in a 5-1 triumph Saturday.

On the season he sits tied for the team high in goals with eight, including a club-best three game-winners, which is just one off the SIJHL lead. The Iron Rangers also have six of their seven victories this season in which he registers at least one point in a game helping his side go 6-2 in that span.

In recognition of his on-ice efforts Losurdo will be presented a gift card courtesy of Pizza Hut.

Honourable mention for the Pizza Hut player of the week award went to JoJo Jeanetta, (G) Minnesota Wilderness; Jacob Nolan, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Tyler Walsh, (F) Dryden Ice Dogs; Matt Kaarela, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars and Dillon Mershon, (F) Duluth Clydesdales.
