LANIGAN VAUGHN WHL GOALIE OF THE MONTH

Press Release

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Cam Lanigan, of the Medicine Hat Tigers, has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for September/October.
The 20 year-old goaltender posted a 6-1-0-0 record through September and October with one shut-out.  Lanigan’s remarkable 1.80 goals-against average and 0.941 save percentage leads all WHL goaltenders (minimum 300 minutes played), allowing just 14 goals on 237 shots-against in 466 minutes played, averaging 30 shots a game.

Lanigan won three straight starts with the Portland Winterhawks before joining the Tigers on October 17.  Since arriving in Medicine Hat he has posted a 4-1-0-0 record helping the Tigers improve to .500, to start the season 8-8-1-0.  His efforts also earned him a Three Star selection four times, with two being 1st Stars.
Lanigan, a Calgary, AB native, is in his fifth season of play in the Western Hockey League, originally drafted by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the 6th round of the 2007 WHL Draft.

His accomplishments make Cam Lanigan a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for September/October.
