Press Release
Brandon, Manitoba – Ever wonder what member of the Wheat Kings has the hardest shot? Who is the fastest skater? Who is most accurate?
Those and many other questions should be answered Sunday afternoon when Scotiabank presents the 2012 Brandon Wheat Kings’ Skills Day at Westman Communications Group Place.
Among
the events that the players will be participating in will include
Accuracy, Hardest Shot, Fastest Skater, Three-on-O, Puck Control and
Team Breakaways.
In preparation for what should be an exciting afternoon, the Honorary Stick Kid Captains and lineups have been unveiled for this weekend’s Skills Day.
Michaela
Kelly of Shilo and Dylan Everett of Brandon have been chosen to serve
as the Stick Kid Captains for Sunday's event, which is being held to
raise money for Hockey Brandon Programs. This year marks the debut of Scotiabank as the Title Sponsor of this event.
Dylan
will skate with Team White while Michaela will lead Team Black. This
marks the first year since 2007 that the Wheat Kings have hosted a
Skills Day, which is scheduled to get underway at 2pm Sunday.
In
addition to skating with their favorite players, Dylan and Michaela
will receive a Wheat Kings’ replica jerseys, compliments of Scotiabank.
The two were selected from entries received at both Brandon locations
