LIPON NAMED HUSKY WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that forward JC Lipon, of the Kamloops Blazers, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for September/October.
The 19 year-old forward has had an incredible to start to the season recording 40 points in 17 games through September/October.  Lipon leads all WHL goal scorers finding the net 16 times, with assists on 24 others, all while maintaining a plus minus rating of +17.  He is presently amidst the WHL’s second longest point streak this season, behind teammate Colin Smith (17 games), collecting points his last 14 games played.

Lipon’s consistent play has helped the Kamloops Blazers remain undefeated in regulation time thus far, posting an incredible 16-0-0-1 record to season.  His efforts have also earned him a Three Star selection eight times, with four being 1st Stars

From Regina, SK, Lipon is in his fourth full season with the Kamloops Blazers.  Originally a list player by the Blazers, Lipon has gone on to appear in 204 career WHL games, gathering 41 goals, 98 assists for a total of 139 points.  For the week ending October 7 and 14, he was named WHL and CHL Player of the Week and this is Lipon’s first Husky WHL Player of the Month Award.

His accomplishments make JC Lipon a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for September/October.
