Press Release
The Owen Sound Attack, in partnership with Grey Motors Mazda is
announcing that their 3rd Annual Toonies and Toys Night has been changed
from Saturday, November 24th to Wednesday, December 5th to better
accommodate our local Owen Sound Fire Department. Toonies and Toys night
is a fundraising initiative that was started two years ago to assist
our local Salvation Army and Owen Sound Fire Department in assisting
families in need at Christmas time.
On December 5th,
fans are encouraged to bring a either a new, unwrapped toy or a monetary
donation that will be used to purchase Christmas presents for children
of local families in need. Fans will also have the opportunity to
participate in a puck toss to have the opportunity to win several great
prizes.
Toonies and Toys night has raised over $3700.00
in cash and toys the past two seasons, replacing the annual Teddy Bear
Toss in 2010, which was scrapped because of health concerns. "The
support for this event the two seasons has been outstanding.", stated
Attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Brent Fisher. "Since
replacing the Teddy Bear Toss in 2010, we have been able to help in
providing assistance to families that require a helping hand through the
holidays."
