Port Huron defenseman Nick commits to NCAA DI Army

Press Release

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce the commitment of defenseman Ryan Nick, 19, to play next season at NCAA Division I Army, who are members of the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).

Nick, a Plymouth, Michigan, native is currently in his second year with the Falcons after being acquired early in the 2011-12 season from the Traverse City North Stars. Nick is currently third on the team in scoring and is the top scoring defenseman on the team with 1 goal and 12 assists while being a +5 in 24 games.

Head Coach/GM Michael Gershon commented on Nick’s commitment, “Ryan has worked extremely hard to get this commitment and I think that Army is going to be getting a great Cadet and someone that we know will work hard to achieve great results on the ice and in the classroom.”

Nick becomes the second Fighting Falcon to commit to Army; Kyle Plageman is the other, as well as being the 5th player to commit to college this season for the Port Huron Fighting Falcons.
To date, over 40 NAHL players have made college commitment this season. View the 2012-13 NAHL college commitment list here.
