Press Release
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Dylan McLaughlin has committed to play hockey at Providence College following his USHL career.
McLaughlin has scored four goals in 14 games this season for the RoughRiders. His highlight reel goal from the October 13th
game against Green Bay gained national attention through multiple media
outlets and was featured as the #1 play on ESPN SportsCenter’s popular
“Top Plays” segment. It is the second USHL season for the 17-year-old
from Lancaster, New York after he appeared in 48 games last year for the
Sioux Falls Stampede and collected seven points (1g, 6a).
Two other current USHL players are also committed to Providence college – Des Moines Buccaneers goaltender Nick Ellis and Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Kyle McKenzie.
Providence College is a member of Hockey East and has six USHL alumni
on the Friars roster this season; John Gilmour (Cedar Rapids
RoughRiders), Mark Adams (Chicago Steel), Tom Parisi (Team USA), Stefan
Demopoulous (Omaha Lancers), Nick Saracino (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders),
and Jon Gillies (Indiana Ice).
