SOURCE EMBROIDERY SJHL POWER RANKINGS

Press Release

1-MELVILLE MILLIONAIRES (12-2-0-1) … 3rd last week

No regulation time losses in their last ten

2-YORKTON TERRIERS (10-3-0-1)  … 1st last week
A slight hiccup on a road trip to Kindersley/Battlefords

3-FLIN FLON BOMBERS (11-3-0-0) … 4th last week
A week after tough road trip, they return home and dominate

4-HUMBOLDT BRONCOS (9-4-1-0)  …. 2nd last week
Losses in La Ronge and Flin Flon drops them a pair of spots this week

5-NIPAWIN HAWKS (6-4-0-2) … 5th last week
Still get the feeling these guys aren’t anywhere near their potential

6-NOTRE DAME HOUNDS (6-5-0-2) … 6th last week
Kevin White deserves a ton of credit.  When was the last time the Hounds were the SJHL’s most physical team?

7-MELFORT MUSTANGS (6-7-0-1) … 9th last week
Mustangs get the higher ranking over Kindersley simply based on playing Melville close on Saturday

8-KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS (6-7-1-0) … 8th last week
Klips defeated Yorkton and then fell apart in third period against Melville this past week

9-BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS (5-7-0-0) … 7th last week
Hasselberg has a way of filling holes.  The Martens addition shouldn’t go unnoticed.  Just like last year, defense is starting to come together after slow start.

10-ESTEVAN BRUINS (4-7-2-0) … 10th last week
No regulation losses in their last three, Cassidy also shakes up roster a bit with a pair of forward acquisitions.

11-LA RONGE ICE WOLVES (4-9-0-2) … 11th last week
They’ve dropped eight of ten, but capable of doing damage as evidenced by beating Humboldt on Friday.

12-WEYBURN RED WINGS (4-12-0-0) … 12th last week
It may still be early, but you don’t want to get buried in the standings.  Wings need to string a couple of wins together or that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

WHO’S HOT

Ian McNulty, Melville (3-2-5-7) … odds on favorite to win scoring title is heating up.

Christian Magnus, Melville (3-3-3-6) … moved onto McNulty’s line has boosted everybody.

Rhyse Dieno, La Ronge (5-6-0-6)… despite team struggles, he keeps on scoring.

Carson Grolla, Notre Dame (6-3-2-5) … got off to a slow start, but personal fortunes changing and so are the team’s.

Josh Betinol, Battlefords (6-5-2-7) …. Nice run for Stars’ rookie

Jake McMillen, Battlefords (7-3-6-9) … he may be the best scorer in the SJHL some day.

Curtis Martinu, Estevan (2-1, 2.28, .926) … no coincidence as he heats up, the Bruins have played better.

Alex Wakaluk, Melville (4-0. 1.22, .952, 2SO) … he’s been the league’s best goalie so far.

Devin Buffalo, Flin Flon (3-2, 1.79, .937, 2SO)… even when team struggled, he didn’t.

Matt Hrynkiw, Humboldt (5-1, 1.84, .941, 2SO) … continues to post eye popping numbers with no fanfare.
