Stampede Defenseman Commits to Air Force

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced that defenseman R.J. Majkozak has committed to play college hockey at the United States Air Force Academy following his USHL career.

Majkozak has collected three points (1g, 2a) while playing in all 14 games for the Stampede this season.  His first USHL career goal was the game-winner in overtime of the 6-5 victory against Fargo on October 13th.  It is the first season in the League for the 19-year-old from White Bear Lake, Minnesota who has an even-or-better plus/minus rating in 11 of his last 12 games.

Fargo Force defenseman Taylor Fleming is also committed to play hockey at Air Force.  Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and a member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference, the Air Force Falcons have nine USHL alumni on the roster this season; Chad Demers (Fargo Force), Cole Gunner (Tri-City/Chicago/Fargo), Stephen Carew (Green Bay Gamblers), Kyle De Laurell (Lincoln Stars), Dan Weissenhofer (Fargo Force), Max Hartner (Green Bay Gamblers), Max Edson (Waterloo Black Hawks), George Michalke (Sioux Falls Stampede), and Mike Walsh (Chicago Steel).

In addition, Air Force head coach Frank Serratore spent six seasons in the USHL as a head coach (1982-87, 1989-90).
