The Olympiques retire Number 20

The Gatineau Olympiques’ organization will honor former Hull Olympiques, Martin Gélinas by hoisting his number 20 at the Robert Guertin Centre on Friday, November 23rd, 2012.

Martin made history with the Hull Olympiques by winning the President Cup in 1988 in his first season with the Olympiques.  That same year, he was awarded the Michel Bergeron Trophy given to the offensive rookie of the year in the QMJHL and the Canadian Hockey League Rookie of the year. He played 132 games with the Olympiques scoring 121 goals and adding 129 assists for a total of 250 points. He also played for Team Canada at the 1989 World Junior Championship in Alaska.

A draw will be held among the season ticket subscribers who can register via the team’s official web site or at the Robert-Guertin Centre for a chance to meet Martin Gélinas and obtain a photo and an autograph. The draw will be held next Tuesday, November 20th.
