Press Release
Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. (Oct. 31, 2011) – The Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey
League Soo Thunderbirds have acquired two players from the Soo Eagles,
of the North American Hockey League. Forwards Dallas McLaughlin Gavin
Burbach will now be skating for the Canadian club.
While with the Eagles, who were members of the NOJHL last season,
McLaughlin had 38 goals and 73 points. “Dallas is very quick, very
intense and offensively gifted,” said Thunderbirds general manager Kevin
Cain.
Meanwhile, Burbach amassed 20 goals and 65 points last year while
skating with the NOJHL Eagles. “Gavin is a very solid veteran forward,”
said Cain. “He’s a good two-way player with offensive skill, and we’re
happy to have him on board.”
To make room for the two imports, the Thunderbirds have released forward
Joe Duoba and are currently seeking a trade for forward Tyler Jones.
