Press Release
Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that
Philippe Maillet of the Victoriaville Tigres is the CHL Player of the
Week for the week ending November 11 after recording eight points in two
games with three goals and five assists and a plus-minus rating of
plus-5.
Maillet helped the Tigres pick up a pair of victories last week
powered by a five-point performance Friday night as first star in a 7-1
win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. With three goals and two
assists the contest marks Maillet’s best game of the season, but counts
as his fourth career five-point game. On Saturday the Tigres defeated
the QMJHL’s top team the Halifax Mooseheads 5-4 with Maillet recording
three assists as third star of the game.
Maillet, a 20-year-old from Terrebonne, Quebec, is playing in his
fourth QMJHL season with the Tigres. Currently ranked 18th in league
scoring, Maillet has 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 17 games.
Also considered for the award this week was Connor Brown of the Erie
Otters who scored two goals and five assists for seven points in two
games, and Mark McNeill of the Prince Albert Raiders who picked up seven
points in three games also scoring two goals and five assists.
