Blizzard's Grove named RBC Player of the Month

The RBC Player of the Month for November is Tyler Grove of the OCN Blizzard.

Grove, who hails from Selkirk, has been a key figure in the Blizzard’s first-place standing in the Sher-Wood Division. The 19-year-old forward recorded 17 points (8-7) in nine games last month.

The runners up are 20 year old forward Jon Gaudet of the Dauphin Kings and 20 year old forward Connor Cleverley of the Winnipeg Blues.

Sherwood Hockey Defenceman of the Month

While he may be a rookie, Garrett Johnston is playing like a seasoned veteran. The Winnipeg native led all defencemen in scoring with 16 points (4-12) during an 11-game span.

The runners up are 18 year old Landon Peel of the Swan Valley Stampeders and 20 year old Kyle Rous of the Steinbach Pistons.

MGEU Goaltender of the Month

Dauphin Kings are long known for having excellent goaltenders. This season is no exception with Jeremy Pominville named MGEU Goaltender of the Month for November.

The 20-year-old posted a 5-1 record (two shutouts), boasting a GAA of 1.83 and save percentage of .936.

The runners up are 19 year old Trent Michalick of the Selkirk Steelers and 20 year old Justin McDonald of the OCN Blizzard.

IBAM Rookie of the Month

Garrett Johnston is off to a great MJHL career. The 17-year-old rookie defenceman led all rookies in scoring with 16 points (4-12) in November.

The runners up are 18 year old Mitchell Eisenberg of the Swan Valley Stampeders and 18 year old forward Grant Valiquette of the OCN Blizzard.
