The Ducks have signed center Joseph Cramarossa to a three-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
Cramarossa, 20 (10/26/92), has scored a career-best 17-39=56 points
with a +15 rating and 76 penalty minutes (PIM) in 60 contests for the
Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season. He has
scored 18 points (3-15=18) in the last 11 games, including seven
multi-point games and a four-point contest (1-3=4) for Belleville on
Feb. 23 vs. Peterborough. The 6-0, 190-pound center ranks third on the
club in points, second in assists and fourth in both goals and
plus/minus this season. Cramarossa had a career-high five-point night
with his first career hat trick (3-2=5, +4) on Jan. 11 against Kingston.
He has helped the Bulls stay atop the OHL’s Eastern Conference with a
39-15-3-3 record (84 points), winning 10 straight from Feb. 9-27. The
club set a franchise record for wins in the month of February, posting a
record of 11-1-0-0.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Cramarossa scored 14-13=27 points in 44
combined contests with Mississauga and Belleville in 2011-12. He was
acquired by Belleville on Jan. 5 and went on to have a season-best
four-game point streak (3-1=4) from Jan. 12-18. Selected by Anaheim in
the third round (65th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Cramarossa
has scored 49-82=131 points with a +30 rating in 227 career OHL games.
In addition, Cramarossa has appeared in 34 career OHL Playoff contests,
notching 4-6=10 points with 35 PIM. He scored 2-2=4 points in 14 OHL
Playoff contests in 2011, helping the Majors advance to the Memorial Cup
final.
