FESER NAMED HUSKY WHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Press Release

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Justin Feser, of the Tri-City Americans, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for February.

The 20 year-old forward collected 24 points through the month of February finding the net 12 times and accumulating 12 assists to go along with a +11 rating.  Feser gathered points in nine of 11 games played including multiple points in six games and four contests where he had three or more point outputs.  Feser’s efforts also earned him a Three Star selection four times, with three being 1st Stars, and was also named Denny’s WHL and CHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 24.

Further to his on-ice achievements, Feser was crowned the WHL’s new ironman last week, breaking the long standing WHL record for consecutive games played.  The previous mark of 311 consecutive games was set by Dwayne Newman with the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Victoria Cougars back in 1988-92.  On March 1, 2013, Feser played in his 312 consecutive WHL regular season game, breaking the record at home in front of friends and family at the Toyota Center, against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Feser
is currently ranked 3rd among all WHL scorers with 100 points (41 goals, 59 assists) in 65 games played.  The Tri-City Americans finished February with a 8-3-0-0 record and currently sit 4th in the WHL Western Conference with a 39-23-1-2 record for 81 points.

From Red Deer, AB, Feser is playing his fifth straight year with the Tri-City Americans.  Originally a 9th round pick by the Ams’ in the 2007 WHL Draft, Feser has gone on to appear in 344 WHL regular season games collecting 347 points (152 goals, 195 assists) and 181 penalty minutes.

His accomplishments make Justin Feser a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for February.
