Hurricanes to welcome Bryan Trottier

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes are excited to announce ATB Financial is bringing in NHL Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier as the special guest for the final home game of the regular season. 

Friday, March 15th against Medicine Hat, the Hurricanes will hold a pre-game awards ceremony recognizing the players as well as the graduating players. Presenting the award for MVP will be Bryan Trottier who was the first winner of the award in the 1974-75 season.

Trottier started his major junior career with the Swift Current Broncos in 1972-73, and then moved to Lethbridge when the Broncos relocated in 1974-75. He was the first Captain of the Lethbridge Broncos and led the team with 144 points that season. He was the 22nd overall pick by the New York Islanders in 1974 and went straight to the NHL from the WCHL registering 95 points in his rookie season. Trottier won 6 Stanley cups as a player with the Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins and one as an Assistant Coach with the Colorado Avalanche.

Also joining Trottier will be his former Penguins teammate Rob Brown who played with the Kamloops Blazers.
