MEDICINE HAT TIGERS: Sign First Round Draft Pick Ty Schultz

Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers' general manager/head coach Shaun Clouston is pleased to announce the signing of their 2012 first round bantam draft pick, TY SCHULTZ to a WHL Standard Players Agreement.

The New Westminster, BC native was selected 16th overall in the 2012 bantam draft and is currently playing for the Greater Vancouver Canadians in the BC Major Midget League.

“Our organization is excited about Ty committing to the Tigers,” stated Tigers’ assistant general manager/head scout Brad McEwen. “He is a skilled defenseman who will be counted on for in the foreseeable future."

Shultz is currently in 7th place in team scoring with 26 points on 3 goals, 23 assists and 24 penalty minutes over 36 games. He is ranked 3rd in league scoring among defensemen.
