Trappers add the “Colonel” to Central Canadian Championships

Press Release

The North BayTrappers have brought in the “Colonel” to help promote the Central Canadian Junior ‘A’ Championships this spring, Hosted by the Trappers in the City of North Bay, April 30th to May 4th, 2013.

Colonel Dudley-Hewitt, wearing an ol’ military cape along with a Pith Helmet will be making his rounds at games and around the community promoting the tournament he is named after; the Dudley-Hewitt Cup.

"I thought it might be fun to personify the spirit of the Cup and show some support for our lads in this way," stated the Colonel, while dressed in his apparel, sporting the Dudley-Hewitt Cup logo on the front of his helmet.

"If we can help show the public what these boys are doing and the dedication that they have exhibited all season long, on and off the ice, then it’s all for the good. Hockey represents adventure and the Canadian spirit. I think the message really should be that our area junior hockey community fans really need to take part and have some fun in and with this terrific junior hockey showcase. It’s not every day a community can enjoy something as big as this and I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to get behind our boys” said the Colonel. “When the area junior hockey fans see for themselves the type of work & dedication these young men have brought into the community this winter, I think it reflects well on the players, the Trappers entire organization, their staff and Northern Ontario as a whole, we can all be proud of both our players, the Trappers and our community junior hockey fans"

Trappers President Chris Dawson reminded all, “key seats in the Gardens have already been sold, the advantage to our fans buying their tournament passes in advance is that they can hand pick the best seats in the house, don’t miss out on selected seating, buy now as some
will surely miss out in waiting to long, don’t wait to long, I have met the Colonel”
